Overview

Tikkurila Everal Aqua Semi-Matt 40 is a satin water-based, acrylic enamel paint, designed for painting interior and exterior wood and metal. Thanks to its formulation, this highly durable semi-gloss finish paint provides a high level of resistance to changing weather conditions as well as UV, mechanical damage and elevated temperature making it ideal for radiators or outdoor use.

Tinted Colour Information

Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Tikkurila tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay. Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order. Note: Depending on the amount of colourant required to mix your chosen colour, there may be up to a 10% variant on the advertised paint volume.

Preparation

Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from dirt and grease.

Previously painted surfaces: Wash the surface with Tikkurila Maalipesu cleaning agent or suitable cleaning solution and rinse carefully with water. Remove loose, flaking paint or lacquer with a scraper and sand the whole surface. Repair any cracks or holes with appropriate filler. Smooth and shiny surface should be roughened and thoroughly dusted. Remove sanding dust before starting painting. All substrates painted with primes: Tikkurila Rostex Super Akva, Tikkurila Otex Akva Adhesion Primer and impregnate Tikkurila Valtti Guard must be repainted after 24 hours from application of the last layer.

Wooden surfaces: New, interior wooden surfaces or wooden like surfaces should be primed with Tikkurila Everal Aqua Primer. For absorbent wooden surfaces prime first with primer diluted 5-10%, then sand the surface and if necessary apply a coat of undiluted Tikkurila Everal Aqua Primer. Wood knots must be treated with Tikkurila Multistop in accordance with the instructions for use before applying the finish enamel. Exterior wood surfaces should be primed with Tikkurila Valtti Guard.

Metal surfaces: Interior and exterior surfaces need to be primed with Tikkurila Rostex Super Akva. Enamel can be used without primer for metal surfaces in dry areas that do not require corrosion protection. However, the use of the primer improves adhesion and visual effect of the finish coat.

Interior mineral surfaces: Prime surface with Tikkurila Optiva Primer, then apply 2 coats of Tikkurila Everal Aqua Semi-Matt 40

Other surfaces: Aluminum, copper, wood, plastic, glass and ceramic should be roughened and primed with Tikkurila Otex Akva Adhesion Primer before applying the enamel top coat.

Application

Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results

Stir thoroughly before use to ensure the paint is completely mixed.
Apply 1 or 2 coats of Everal Aqua Semi-Matt 40 by brush, roller or sprayer.
Before application, thin if necessary, up to 5% with water, in sufficient amount of paint from one production batch to avoid possible colour difference.
